Juan Ramírez, dishwasher, proudly displayed this dirty dish
and I thought the Virgin should be there because it was December
and because we respect this difficult work, often the first job of immigrants.
Dishwashing was one of our publisher Jorge's first jobs in the US before he started El Andar.
After seven years of publishing a regional newsprint edition, we re-launched in 1998 as a national magazine.
